On November 2, 2007, The Edcon Group hosted a Dementia
Care Conference in Kansas City, MO, titled "Creating Beauty in
Dementia Care." Speakers included John Killick (England) and Kate Allan
(Scotland) as well as Barry Bernstein (Overland Park, KS). Barry was
kind enough to lead a drum circle at our event and explain (through
demonstration) the physiological effects of rhythm. As we have worked
with individuals who have dementia, we've experienced incredible success
and connection using his techniques. Many thanks to Barry for being an
inspiration and contributor to the health and well-being of others.
